So everyone has been asking me what I'm going to be for Halloween. My usual reply of "a Guinness brewmaster" is met with confused looks. So for those who are interested and wondering what a "Guinness brewmaster" is, check out this YouTube clip...
New Jersey Nets guard Devin Harris gets taken to school by a local British baller named Stuart Tanner. The video has become a YouTube sensation as this unknown trainer walks up to Harris, challenges him to a quick one-on-one and beats him.
I posted the video for three reasons...
1. Any time you see an amature athlete take on a pro and win is enjoyable. It's that little bit of inspiration for all of us to take on the best.
2. Devin Harris shows complete class and strong character, something we don't see enough of in pro athletes.
3. I'm going to see Devin Harris and the New Jersey Nets take on our Washington Wizards tonight for opening game of the 2008-09 season.
I was browsing the First Friday web site when I found a cool little photo from their last happy hour at Lounge 201 on Capitol Hill. It was shot on Friday, October 3rd and includes myself, dance friends Lily Matini (far left) and Dervon Chang as well as Seton Motley, Director of Communications for the Media Research Center.
I should also add that Mr. Dan Kelly was in the mix as well and we all enjoyed cocktails named "Moose Juice" after VP candidate Sarah Palin's favorite pastime of moose hunting.
Okay, so most of who know me well understand I love politics. But you also know I rarely talk about it in public. And I most certainly rarely blog about it on here. But something happened in the last debate that left me utterly speechless. John McCain has officially won the award for most stupid facial expression ever. I mean, are you serious???

I have officially made my return to the nightlife photography world. Last night Dan and I spent the evening at Club Ibiza where I took photos of world-class DJ Blake Jarrell. The images will appear somewhere on the CW network web site as well as Club Glow's official site. And give me a few weeks to finish my site redesign and a full gallery will appear on dougvansant.com.
